This collection of work is inspired by folklore, myth and children’s literature. These magical narratives create worlds that can be described but never entered. They reflect psychoanalyst D.W. Winnicott’s “holding environment” that refers to a supportive space where someone could express vulnerable emotions without fear of judgement in order to explore power, loneliness, nostalgia, identity and ritual. (Some of the inspiration below comes from Baum’s The Wizard of Oz, Lewis’ Alice in Wonderland, Irish mythology, Scottish folklore and Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are.
